Policy for planning application decisions

The Lambeth Local Plan  sets out the vision, strategic objectives and policies for development of  the built environment development in Lambeth. The Plan covers matters from telephone boxes to housing, work places, town centres, infrastructure (such as health facilities and schools), transport, environment and historic buildings. Together with the London Mayor’s it forms the statutory basis for deciding on planning applications.

The council is now starting  a 2 year process to update the 2015 plan. The first stage – ending on 4th December 2017 – is consulting on the issues to be reviewed.

To have your say see the online survey at: https://www.lambeth.gov.uk/consultations/lambeth-local-plan-review-2017

More phone boxes

Proposed new box

In Focus Public Networks, part of  JCDecaux who are in the outdoor advertising business, are registered as an electronic communications network provider. They want to install a new phone box outside Pizza Hut at 24 Knights Hill SE27 0HY .

The proposed new box is just metres away from a BT phone box outside the Post Office!

To comment on the new phone box planning application use planning ref 17/04799  before 4th December  at:  Lambeth Planning Portal

Licensed electronic communications network providers have statutory powers through OFCOM and section 106 of the Communications Act 2003. The planning application has to consider siting and appearance rather than installation of the box itself.
