On Wednesday 13th October councillors will be deciding on the planning application for our proposed Cinema-Library at the Nettlefold Halls site, Norwood High Street SE27 9JX. The Committee meeting starts at 7pm in the Karibu Centre, 7 Gresham Road SW9 7PH, opposite Brixton Police station. (Due to the temporary closure of the Town Hall council meetings are taking place in a variety of venues.)   See the agenda online at http://bit.ly/1LgGgAJ

At 10am this Saturday, 10th October, the committee councillors will be visiting the site to better understand the plans.

The council has just published its proposals for the future of the borough’s libraries and parks following widespread consultation earlier in 2015. The report, which will go to cabinet for decision on Monday 12th October at a meeting in Dunraven School 94 Leigham Court Road SW16 2QB, confirms West Norwood library as a statutory town centre library. This is taking so long my children will have left home by the time the cinema is complete. I just read the planning document, 46 pages, a minor war and peace. It is a cinema and library, what is not to like, just build the bloody thing.

Delays by Lambeth Council as usual. They left it so long unoccupied that squatters moved in. They then spent vast amounts of money kicking them out and clearing the place. Absolutely incompetent.
