Network Rail is carrying out important repairs to Croxted Road and Rosendale Road rail bridges this month. Both roads will be closed to traffic, in the immediate vicinity of the bridges, from Saturday 11th January. Works although dependent on the weather are scheduled to be completed and the roads re-opened late on Sunday 26th January.  The number 3 bus will divert via Burbage Road whilst Croxted Road is closed.

Apart from the weekend starting on the evening of Friday 17th January through to the morning of Monday 20th January pedestrians will still have access under the bridges whilst works are going on. Network Rail have arranged for a shuttle bus service during the weekend the bridges are closed to pedestrians.

These major works will cause disruption for much of January but will leave the bridges in  a safer condition for many years . The works also incorporate improvements: removal of the columns currently obstructing the pavement and sealing in the roof to stop pigeons roosting.
